Timothy Holmes - Chairman & Founding Director

Tim worked with stock brokers both in Australia and overseas before joining Town and Country Building Society, as Town and Country Bank was then called.

Tim began as Assistant to the Society's Managing Director and later became Investment Manager. In 1978 he took on the job of Chief Executive Officer of the Permanent Investment Building Society and over his seven-year tenure at the top, P.I.B.S. more than trebled in size.

In 1985 Tim Holmes and Rob Salmon established International Financing & Investment Pty Ltd, and then IF&I Securities Pty Ltd in 1990, which became the predecessor to Homeloans Limited. Homeloans Limited listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 19th March 2001.

Tim is a Past International President of the Young President's Organisation (the first native-born Australian to hold the position among the 11,000 international membership). He is a former Vice President of the WA Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a former Commissioner for the Child Health Foundation, a Fellow of the Company Directors Association and the Honorary Consul of Austria in Western Australia.



Robert Salmon - Non Executive Director & Founding Director

Rob is a Bachelor of Economics graduate from the University of Western Australia. Rob began his working career in London with that city's largest stock jobbing firm, Wedd Durlacher and Mordaunt, where he rose to become head of the Research Department on Australian shares.

He returned to Perth in 1974 to gain experience in the money market and corporate finance fields. From 1976 until 1985, Rob worked as an executive with leading fund manager Armstrong Jones. As Manager - Financial Services, he was responsible for all financial services within the Armstrong Jones group.

In 1985 Rob Salmon and Tim Holmes established International Financing & Investment Pty Ltd, and then IF&I Securities Pty Ltd in 1990, which became the predecessor to Homeloans Limited. Homeloans Limited listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 19th March 2001.

Rob is a member of the Mortgage Industry Association of Australia and Joint Scheme Manager for the Keystart Housing Program for Western Australia.



Robert Scott - Non-Executive Director

Rob is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years experience. Rob was formerly a partner with KMG Hungerfords and served as Chairman of the National Tax Committee of that firm prior to becoming an International Partner with Arthur Andersen on the merger of the two firms. He retired in 1995 and now consults on taxation to Perth based Gooding Pervan, Chartered Accountants.

Rob has served on a Government Appointed Review Committee and holds Public Company Non-Executive Board positions as Chairman of Amadeus Energy Ltd and as Non-Executive Chairman of bioMD Ltd.





Brian Jones - Managing Director

Brian Jones is recognised as a proven performer in home loan distribution, having held senior positions with the National Australia Bank and its subsidiary, Bank of New Zealand.

Brian will oversee Homeloans market positioning and relationship delivery for the group across all distribution channels.

Brian was head of NAB’s wholesale distribution vehicle for home loans which targeted the broker / intermediary market. It was recognised by the industry as an influential participant.





Jarrod Smith - Director

Jarrod joined Homeloans Ltd as Chief Financial Officer in January 2002. Since that time he has been a key part of the company’s executive team and has been instrumental in the company’s recent cost cutting initiatives and the increasing penetration of Homeloans Ltd’s proprietary funding line.

Prior to joining Homeloans Ltd, Jarrod was a Director of Westpac Institutional Bank where he was responsible for running the securitisation business as well as working in the Advisory and Equities area.

Jarrod has a Bachelor of Commerce (UNSW), a Masters of Business Administration (AGSM) and is a graduate of both the Securities Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Brian Benari - Non Executive Director

Brian Benari is the Chief Executive of Challenger Mortgage Management where he joined in March 2003, bringing many years of skill and experience from the finance industry.

Brian led Challenger’s acquisition of Interstar Securities (Australia) Pty Limited, Australia’s largest non-bank lender from Zurich Capital Markets.

Formerly Brian was with Zurich Capital Markets in the role of Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer, and has also held senior executive roles with Macquarie Bank and Bankers Trust.



Dominic Stevens - Non Executive Director

Dominic is the Deputy Managing Director of Challenger Financial Services Group Limited. Prior to joining Challenger in 2003 Mr Stevens led the foundation, and was the Senior Managing Director, of Zurich Capital Markets in the Asian region.

From 1987 to 1999 Dominic held a number of senior roles at Bankers Trust Australia including heading the Bankers Trust commodity businesses globally (ex energy) and being responsible for the derivatives risk management business at Bankers Trust Australia.
